Which materials does Modenese Gastone work in?
Modenese Gastone works classic furniture in solid cherry, walnut and mahogany, with 24k gold-leaf gilding, Carrara and other fine marble tops, and silk damask, velvet, brocade or tufted-leather upholstery. Finishes run from high-gloss lacquer to aged patina and beeswax, matched to any RAL Classic reference and recorded for each ceremonial piece.
Structure comes first. Solid hardwood carries the deep carving and holds the joints, so beds, tables and cabinets are framed in walnut, cherry or mahogany with traditional joinery. The wood sets both the carving depth and the finish that will suit it under formal lighting.
Gilding and surface follow. 24k gold leaf is laid over carved gesso and sealed under a clear coat; marble tops are honed or polished and set into shaped frames; upholstery is chosen by use, with silk and brocade on formal seating and tufted leather where wear is heavier. The collections show these materials in finished rooms, the commission route marks when samples are approved, and a room brief goes straight to the workshop.

Each material has a role, a finish and a place in a formal room. Modenese Gastone confirms all three before production so a buyer knows how a Baroque bed head or an Empire tabletop will wear, and how the gilding is protected over the long life of the piece.
